The nature of our objects

Everything we sell is vintage or antique and has lived before. Wear, patina and small marks of age are part of each piece and are not defects. We describe condition honestly in every dossier, including chips, repairs, what we cleaned and what we left untouched.

Photographs show the actual piece. Colors can look different from screen to screen, and measurements are taken by hand, so allow for small differences.

Makers and attribution

Every dossier states how sure we are of who made a piece:

Signed or hallmarked

The maker's mark, signature or label is on the piece.

Attributed

Our considered opinion, based on design, construction and materials, without a mark to prove it.

In the style of

The piece follows a maker or period but is not claimed to be by them.

Attributions are made in good faith from our own examination and research. Brand names are used only to describe the pieces; Reliqtic is not affiliated with, endorsed by or an authorized dealer for any maker we mention. If a signed or hallmarked piece proves not to be genuine, we will take it back and refund you in full.

Prices and availability

Prices are in US dollars. Each piece is one of a kind, so it can sell at any moment, and a listing on the site is not a guarantee that it is still available. If we make a mistake in a price or description, we will correct it and let you choose whether to proceed or cancel with a full refund.

Buying

A piece is yours once payment is received in full. After you inquire, we hold it for you for 48 hours. Sales tax is added where the law requires it. We may decline a sale at our discretion, for example if we suspect fraud.

Until your piece is delivered, it is our responsibility and fully insured. Shipping times, costs and what to do if something arrives damaged are set out in Buying from Reliqtic, which forms part of these terms.

Final sale

Because every piece is described in full before you buy, all sales are final. This does not affect our promise: if a piece arrives materially different from its dossier, or damaged in transit, we make it right. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law where you live.

Using this site

The photographs, dossiers and texts on this site are ours. You are welcome to share links, but please do not copy, republish or collect them automatically without our permission. Some pages are a private preview; please keep the access details to yourself.

Our responsibility

We do our best to keep the site accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will always be error free. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any purchase is limited to the price you paid for it.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest still apply. We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time of your purchase is the one that applies to it.
